Preflet GmbH secures pre-seed funding
Preflet GmbH, founded by Shailendra Tomar and Francesca Rubbiani, is transforming building energy efficiency in Europe using AI. With over €400,000 in funding from Techstars, Climate KIC, ESA BIC, and L-Bank, it’s cutting energy use by 15% and preparing for growth with 10+ pilot customers.

Preflet GmbH, founded by Francesca Rubbiani and Shailendra Tomar, successfully convinced L-Bank and two angel investors with their vision of using artificial intelligence to enhance building energy efficiency, targeting commercial buildings across Europe. This German startup, located at the Tübingen-Reutlingen Technology Park in Baden-Württemberg, has developed an AI-powered platform that analyzes buildings' energy consumption and achieves a reduction of 15 percent. By identifying sources of energy waste and recommending practical solutions, the platform enables building managers to lower their carbon footprint as well as operating costs.
Since its inception, Preflet GmbH has achieved remarkable milestones. The startup raised ¢120,000 from Techstars, secured €50,000 from Climate KIC, and received a grant of €50,000 from ESA BIC BW to fuel its early development. By 2024, the company had secured over €400,000 in total funding, including its latest investment of €200,000 through the Start-up BW Pre-Seed program, a funding initiative by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism, and L-Bank.
In addition to securing funding, Preflet GmbH has built a solid team and successfully onboarded over 10 pilot customers. With these strong foundations, the company is now gearing up for its next phase of growth, aiming to scale its operations and expand its impact across Europe.
